View from Scotch Block (the highest point on the island)
July 30th and 31st, 2022
Heritage weekend is a time when all Cockburn Islanders come together; young and old, near and far — the weekend draws all our Islanders home. Whether it’s meeting new friends, catching up with old ones, enjoying the events, or reconnecting with the Island, we’ll be happy to see you.
Pay to enter and get your map. Tour the island sites all day Saturday collecting poker chips to trade in for cards at the Fish Fry. Best hand wins the pot.
Those that are unable to gather chips are more than welcome to buy their poker hand directly.
Buy your tickets for the 50/50 Draw at the Fish Fry. Winner will be drawn at random after the dinner.
The whole town is having a yard sale! Looking to sell or give away some things you have around the camp, place those treasures at the end of your driveway.
Everyone is welcome to attend this meeting of the Town Council.
Get the family together for the 2nd Annual Children's Treasure Hunt (and the first for adults too). Clues will be given out at the phone booth.
The famous Cockburn Island ATV Games will be happening again this year. Bring your ATVs and compete against the best the island has to offer — or just have fun.
Cockburn Island Artists and Photographers Linda, Gayanne, and Susan will have their art, jewelry, and photography on display and available for purchase.
Be sure to enter the Poker Run as well by purchasing your map during this event!
Head over to the church to check out the Silent Auction before the Fish Fry. There will be plenty of art and items to bid on. Winners will be announced during the Fish Fry.
Be sure to fill up at the Annual Fish Fry. Meal includes all you can eat Fish, French Fries, Coleslaw, Caesar Salad, Baked Beans, Buns, and Dessert. Tickets can be purchased all day and at event.
Adults: $18.00
Children 6-12: $8.00
Children Under 5: Free
Dessert Bake Off: Have a favourite dessert that you think is worthy of a prize? Bring it to the Fish Fry. There will be voting to determine the best dessert, and the winner will take home the prize. Bake on!
Cockburn Island is entirely environmentally friendly. We are asking that you bring your own plates and utensils. Thank you in advance.
Bring your lucky dabbers and take part in the first ever Cockburn Island Bingo Night. It's going to be a blast!
Speaking of a blast, the fireworks will be taking place at dusk down by the dock. Donations for fireworks are greatly appreciated.
A big thanks to Cal & Velma and John & Lisa Beaney for their generous donation to this years fireworks display!
Want to do your part in keeping Cockburn Island and its Heritage Sites beautifully preserved for future generations to enjoy? You might be a good fit for the Heritage Steering Committee.
