Cockburn Island Heritage Fund

The Cockburn Island Heritage Fund is made possible through generous private donations and community fundraising efforts. Dedicated to preserving the island’s rich history, this fund supports the maintenance and restoration of historical buildings while fostering a strong sense of community. Through events and activities that bring people together, the fund helps celebrate and protect the island’s unique heritage for generations to come.

The Executive Committee makes decisions as to how the funds are to be spent.

Heritage weekend will be upon us before we know it. The first meeting for the Executive and membership will be on the long weekend of May. We welcome all islanders and ideas for the weekend festivities. Volunteers form an important part of the success and the camaraderie of our Islanders.

Heritage executive election if needed. Anyone on the membership list if interested in a position can put their name forward . If needed an election will be held. The position of secretary is vacant. We look forward to your thoughts on the long weekend of May. It would be great to have all the executive in place that same weekend.

The Heritage Committee will need volunteers for the August Long weekend fish fry (kitchen set up, food prep, fryers, cleanup, moving picnic tables, set up tent etc)
